No1203.com is changing the dialog around the emerging biofuels and alternative energy industries. We bring context to the technical and business implications of this industry. While other blogs concentrate on reporting the news (and very effectively), this blog attempts to expose issues that are give more insight into the market’s ever-changing dynamics.
The Name
“1203″ refers to a DOT placard placed gasoline tankers. The vision, then, is to replace the 1203 placard with a new, cleaner opportunity. While biofuels represent a great opportunity for humanity to have its technological cake and eat it too, they also come with many inherent challenges. These challenges require many parties – countries, communities, and businesses to make very important decisions about what is the right way to manage their lifestyle and the role of technology in their lives.

We focus on several key themes in the content of this blog:

- Analysis of industry issues
In each of these themes, we attempt to bring explanations of the technology or business issues. Our hope is to help educate visitors to think through the common rhetoric in most media outlets while, at the same time, learning about developing technologies and occurrences within the industry.

Doug Williams, the primary author of No1203.com, is an avid biofuels enthusiast. An engineer by training, he has worked in a variety of industries in his career including specialty chemicals, consumer package goods, fragrances, software, biotech, and alternative energy. He has a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University and a MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
